01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Set along Harumi-dori in Ginza, Honolulu Coffee Ginza sits directly opposite the striking facade of the Kabukiza Theatre. Hawaiian music plays quietly through the casual interior, where large windows look out onto the street traffic, creating an easygoing spot to linger over a drink.
Pour-over coffees prepared carefully by the cup at the counter are among the venue's defining draws. Hand-drip options showcase the distinctive qualities of Kona coffee, ranging from 100% Kona Extra Fancy—selected from large beans to yield a deep body reminiscent of nuts and dark chocolate—to the Kona Estate Selection using estate-grown beans and rare Peaberry lots. The espresso and cold coffee lineup accommodates varied tastes with clean cold brews, coconut-noted Hawaiian lattes, and classic caffè lattes finished with latte art.
Fruit Bowls and Chewy Pancakes
Alongside coffee, brightly assembled acai bowls are a regular order. Options include a popular standard layered with chia seed pudding, granola, and fresh fruit; the Classic Acai Bowl made with unsweetened purée and a touch of honey; and the Cracking Acai Bowl, topped with a crisp chocolate shell designed to be broken open with a spoon. For something more substantial, the macadamia nut cream pancakes combine a chewy pancake base with a rich, fragrant nutty sauce.
From Morning Starts to Post-Theater Breaks
Open from 8:00 to 20:00, the cafe serves breakfast choices such as avocado toast as well as pancakes paired with bacon and salad for a savory meal. Takeout is available alongside dine-in service, and payment methods include credit cards, transit IC cards, PayPay, and Rakuten Pay. It functions smoothly as a meeting place before or after performances at Kabukiza, or as an unhurried stop during a walk through Ginza for a hot latte or smoothie.
